EDLounge Ltd is proud to be working with EDEXCEL Workskills so that all your NEETs, demotivated, absentees and problematic students can gain 1-4 full GCSE qualifications. We now offer this approach to all our users whether they want to learn for Worksills Entry 3 Award Level or for the Level 1 Certificate Workskills qualification.
Within the vocational area your students can complete, learn and submit any aspect of the EDEXCEL Workskills qualifications to build up credits.
The accreditation and award structure is:
3 credits = Level 3 Award in WorkSkills (13 hours)
13 Credits = Level 1 or 2 BTEC Certificate in WorkSkills (130 hours)
37 Credits = Level 1 or 2 BTEC Diploma in WorkSkills (130 hours)
When students go "to Learn" they undertake lessons that are randomly chosen from their unique Individual Learning Pathway. Students HAVE to complete English, Maths, Science, Citizenship, Behaviour, SEAL, Careers, Workskills (EDEXCEL) and PE Lessons to earn virtual points. There are over 600+ KS2, KS3 and KS4 lessons to study in the form of interactive, multimedia rich e-learning content. Alongside this the students can independently go to their vocational area where they go to complete the Workskills lessons in order to gain 1 - 4 full GCSE qualifications by EDEXCEL in workskills. Throughout this vocational area they can learn aspects about Workskills, Careers, Interviews, Health and Safety alongside Life Skills. |
As the student works through the slides and learning pathway there are several different slides that require different types of input to generate extra cash, if you get the right answer from a multiple choice questions. By completing the lessons in English, Maths and Science the student earns £100 in virtual money. So therefore, through completing lessons, revision quizzes, activities and tasks, they are rewarded with "Enterprise Points" which can be spent however they want. Based upon their score, students receive a number of development points which they can use within their enterprise.
At the end of each lesson, students will be given the option to undertake a related educational game where 'bonus' points can be earned. The more development points a student earns, the more successful their enterprise thus the more money they can earn to 'spend' on game experiences or room (environment) upgrades. |

As a student works through the CORE lessons (Maths, English and Science) or VOCATIONAL lessons (Workskills, Life Skills, Careers) there are several different types of files that require different types of input from the students: text box files are where the answers are independently written in by the student and rewarded by the teacher; image files and media files alongside the text as you put the correct text into boxes and do all tasks within the lesson; and there are multiple choice lesson files which earn you £20 more when you get the right answer. Also, within the vocational side of their learning area the students will have to complete coursework lessons and criteria so that they can gain 1 - 4 full GCSE qualifications from EDEXCEL. Everything that the student does is recorded
All the lesson content within EDLounge corresponds to the NEW CURRICULUM and they last between 10-45 minutes. All aspects of the virtual, kinaesthetic and auditory learner is catered for with the EDLounge lessons as there are media clips, pictures, colour schemes for visual impaired and sound files for the students to aid learning. There is also instant messenger available within the lesson files so that the students can ask either a teacher online or the EDLounge teacher to assist learning. |
The information from the lessons is automatically saved into the student's online server which can be viewed in their lesson answer page. Everything that is answered within the lesson is recorded, with graphical data being presented for the teacher to view progression, timing, pathway and development in English, Maths, Science and Citizenship. |
