Educate through EDLounge

EDLounge Ltd is proud to be working with EDEXCEL Workskills so that all your NEET's, demotivated, absentees and problematic students can gain 1, 2 and 4 full GCSE qualifications.

We now offer this approach to all our users whether they want to learn for Worksills Entry 3 Award Level or for the Level 2 Certificate / Diploma Workskills qualification. Within the vocational area your students can complete, learn and submit any aspect of the EDEXCEL Workskills qualifications to build up credits.

Within EDLounge, a student can now learn core, vocational and foundation subjects online. Whilst learning they also have the following choices:

Go To Learn: The students complete a range of 3,000+ KS2, KS3 and KS4 lessons. These take the form of interactive, multimedia rich e-learning content. As the student studies, they are rewarded with "enterprise points" or a vocational qualification from EDEXCEL in Workskills and money and finance skills.

Vocational and Foundation Learning: The students have the facility to independently learn about Work Skills, Money, Finance, Budgeting, Preparation for Life, Careers, Interviews, Health and Safety alongside Life Skills alongside gaining qualifications (GCSE's).

Functional Skills Learning: Alongside the Vocational side of EDLounge we provide an extensive range of lessons and assessment tools, to develop your students knowledge and understanding of the Functional Skills in Maths and English for Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.

Go To Work: Each student becomes CEO of Edville. Here they will make managerial decisions to build up their enterprises and turn them into an empire. As the students complete lessons they are rewarded with enterprise points. As the CEO of EDVille the student then has to invest this money wisely in their businesses, so they can start to generate more revenue and custom. As the student's enterprise earns revenue, the student will be rewarded with virtual money. This money can then be spent improving their lounge, lifestyle, garden or on games. Their work and play experience is all dependent upon how well and efficient they have performed in each lesson, alongside the time that they have dedicated to learning the core subjects and the vocational qualification areas.

Go To Play: Money earned can be spent on experience days.

When students go "to Learn" they undertake lessons that are randomly chosen from their unique Individual Learning Pathway. Students HAVE to complete English, Maths, Science, Citizenship, Behaviour, SEAL, Careers, Workskills (EDEXCEL), History, Geography, Media, Enterprise, Business and PE Lessons to earn virtual points.

There are over 3,000+ KS2, KS3 and KS4 lessons to study in the form of interactive, multimedia rich e-learning content. Alongside this, the students can independently go to their vocational area where they complete their Workskills lessons in order to gain 1 - 4 full GCSE qualifications, by EDEXCEL in workskills. Throughout this vocational area they can learn aspects about Workskills, Careers, Interviews and Health and Safety, alongside Life Skills.

As a student works through the CORE lessons (Maths, English and Science) or VOCATIONAL lessons (Workskills, Life Skills, Careers) there are several different types of files that require different types of input from the students: text box files are where the answers are independently written in by the student and rewarded by the teacher; image files and media files alongside the text as you put the correct text into boxes and do all tasks within the lesson; and there are multiple choice lesson files which earn you more money in your business, given the correct answers. Also, within the vocational side of their learning area the students will have to complete coursework lessons and criteria so that they can gain 1 - 4 full GCSE qualifications, from EDEXCEL. Everything that the student does is recorded

All the lesson content within EDLounge corresponds to the NEW CURRICULUM, with each lesson lasting between 10-45 minutes. All aspects of the virtual, kinaesthetic and auditory learner is catered for with the EDLounge lessons, as there are media clips, pictures, colour schemes for visual impaired and sound files for the students to aid learning. There is also instant messenger available within the lesson files so that the students can ask either a teacher online, or the EDLounge teacher to assist learning.

The information from the lessons is automatically saved into the student's online server, which can be viewed on their lesson answer page. Everything that is answered within the lesson is recorded, with graphical data being presented for the teacher to view progression, timing, pathway and development, in English, Maths, Science and Citizenship.
